We believe in the great grace of God. It is by God's grace that we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9) and that God's grace sustains and molds us (Titus 2:11-13). We believe that the grace of God can reach any and all sinners. It is not reserved for just the "elect" but is available to all. At Open Door, great grace is the foundation of our theology and John 3:16 is our proof-text.
We believe that the heart of God is missions. We believe that we are to obey the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) to make disciples by evangelism, baptism, and teaching. We believe that the church ought to reach people with a global perspective. We believe a true priority of missions is demonstrated by sacrificial and generous financial giving, commitment to prayer, and personal involvement.
We believe that the family is the foundation of cultures and nations. It is also the foundation of the church. We believe that the church ought to operate like a family and that discipleship and spiritual maturing is best when done in the context of family. We seek to develop a deep love for one another as Jesus instructed (John 15:12) by mutual commitment, corporate worship, and co-laboring together in the work of the ministry. We strive to maintain a warm, friendly, and loving environment at Open Door.
